I randomly came across an accident damaged Renault Megane III Coupe with 5.7k miles on the clock (World Series Edition) in Glacier White colour. It had the specs we were after, but had sustained extensive damage. The price was good that I could buy it and take on a DIY project to repair it as a RenaultSport REPLICA. And even after the repair the cost would be cheaper than a standard Megane III Coupe.
The car also sustained interior damage caused by white emulsion paint splattering over the seats, door-cards, seatbelts and dashboard.
The front-end repair involved the following work:
- Jig work
- Replacement N/S Chassis Leg
- Replacement N/S front driveshaft
- Replacement Clutch Slave Cylinder
- New engine wiring loom
- Replacement of electronic parts on the N/S
- Replacement Radiator Hoses
- Replacement Thermostat housing
- Replacement A/C pipe
- Repalcement Cooling Fan
- Replacement Radiator
- Replacement Condenser
As well as converting the exterior to a RenaultSport Replica, we also did the following mods:
- Fitted Xenon Version Headlamps
- Retro-fitted headlamp washers
- Custom built wiring & circuit for LED Bumper DRL's with the option to activate them at night as fog lights.
- Fitted aftermarket WinCE 6.0 DVD/GPS Nav system
- Installed a USB port (instead of the RCA aux port that the car originally had)
- Installed Reverse Camera
- Had seats re-trimmed in two-tone yellow and black leather (with yellow stitching) - Excellent service provided by Trevor at TrimStar Interior Specialists.
- Aluminium Pedals
- RenaultSport Steering Wheel with Yellow Stitching & Gearknob
- RenaultSport dash trim
(Please refer to the mods section for more details on all the mods)
